GPU

Graphics processing unit (GPU): A processor that specialises in handling graphics. It's mostly relevant for games that use advanced 3D graphics. Even the most basic GPU is fine for graphics applications, although some, such Photoshop CS4 or CS5, are starting to leverage the GPU.
