I had everything running smoothly on 12.03 apart from the fact that the external hard drive that our shared Outlook.pst file resides on started rejecting permission for my PC to access the drive (but not my wife's PC).
In trying to correct this I made the mistake of uninstalling Samba and now despite my best efforts, I keep getting an error message when trying to reinstall it.
Trust me I've tried everything.
Trying to share the drive thru Nautilus throws up the error that the windows sharing service is not installed. Would I like it install it, but it doesn't work.

I am looking to buy the March magazine and can see no where on the website to order and pay for same. Have I missed it or can I order it please?

I've had a go at using the Postfix mail server to send mail between different users on UserOS Homeserver so far without success. Maybe some of you tinkerers out there have had more success.
First obstacle was Webmin not being able to bring up the config screens till I found that it needed a blank file called main.cf file in /etc/postfix. Using just the default setting I was able to create and send an email - but only into a black hole.

I have finally loaded ubuntu 11 onto a system and I have encountered a problem. I went into the "ubuntu shop" and downloaded/installed several programs. I expected to find them on the desktop or in downloads but they are not!What has happened to them and how do I find them to use? One was stellarium for instance.

Hi, I have attempted to set up a dual boot using WinXP and Ubuntu 11.10. I have used Partition Magic to set up a linux partition to use Ubuntu from. I set this partition as 104GB linux Ext2 partition. When used the wubi installer on the Ubuntu disc it asked if I wanted to install beside windows or something else. I ticked the something else and it came up with both the Windows partition and the Linux partition. This is where I became concerned and cancelled out. Can you help me please. Regards Chris

I am very much a beginner in the world of Linux. Is it possible to stream Video/Audio to an Apple TV (2) from Homeserver avoiding the use of Itunes on my W7 machine? I have installed Homeserver on a stand alone machine.
