Fujitsui’s LifeBook AH531 has been around for a bit now and unfortunately, it’s starting to show its age. While its performance still holds up pretty well, it’s a little pricey compared to similar Core i5 models. It also only offers a 500GB hard drive whereas 640GB units are now common on sub-$1000 models.
You also only get Intel integrated graphics – that’s not always a bad thing, particularly when you can boast a battery life of 3 hours 25 minutes. An HDMI port is included but there’s no USB 3.0 port. The 8GB of DDR3-1333 RAM is welcome but memory is always easier to add than features like USB 3.0.
It comes with the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Professional but our test unit was lacking the Service Pack 1 update. Still, it’s not a bad unit but is starting to get to the point where it needs a price drop or a refit to stay fresh.
